Jack Harlow "Route 66" Ft Est Gee

After coming in hot with his debut album, Louisville’s very-own Jack Harlow releases a new music video for “Route 66” featuring another native of the Slugger City: EST Gee. One of the more smooth and glossy tracks off the album, it was more than calculated by Harlow to bring EST Gee on such a record. Pulling up in a classic Cadillac Coupe Deville, both rappers flaunt their southern success, dressed down to the toes in their home state of Kentucky. The video moves between different formats of cinematography (film, hi-8, digital, etc;) and presents Harlow and Gee in front of iconic Kentucky landmarks such as Churchill Downs (home to the legendary Kentucky Derby), George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge, and more.  As it appears in the video, there seems to be an organic comradery between the two. Not only is it notable to have two rappers from the same place on a similar come up, but to have both talents cohesively creating good music is beyond noteworthy.

On December 11, 2020, Jack Harlow released his anticipated debut album titled “That’s What They All Say,” under Don Cannon and DJ Drama’s Generation Now record label. The debut was well received, featuring hit songs such as “What’s Poppin,” which became widely viral on the social media platform Tik-Tok, and “Tyler Herro” named respectively after Miami Heat point-guard Tyler Herro. Both singles charted very well and have proven to be Harlow’s biggest hits yet. 2019 and 2020 lead on to be very strong years for the Kentucky rapper, however; his hot streak of success is far from over.

Coming in at just 22 years old, Jack Harlow has already given us an intensive stack of work; self-releasing 4 projects before signing with DJ Drama and Don Cannon, then gifting us with 3 more projects and as well as an EP. All projects under the Generation Now label have charted fairly well though his debut charted at #5 on the Billboard, being his highest. Aside from numbers and charting, there is a sturdy fanbase that dwells beneath Jack Harlow. The rapper reeled in respectable features such as Static Major, Lil’ Baby, Adam Levine, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Lil’ Wayne, and more. Static Major also happens to be one of the first Louisville legends in Hip-Hop music so it’s only pragmatic that such an artist would be featured on Harlow’s debut.
